The whole idea of calling the record Vulnerable is kind of like—the only way I’ve ever been able to accomplish anything in my life, whether it’s falling in love or daring to dream to be in a rock ’n’ roll band and succeed, you have to be at those vulnerable moments in your life to allow these things to happen. It’s really important for us to put a positive twist on the word vulnerable. A lot of people think it’s a bad thing, but it’s actually something that allows you success in life.

After a couple of months, after I started to get better, I realized, “Holy shit, I haven’t done anything creative in months.” I got on this really positive inspirational kick. The record came out very positive, actually.

Maybe I was too gloomy about @wearetheused’s Vulnerable release date. Nought point five of the band played a surprise set last night, Big Picture were there and reported that the new album was due out in March.

I guess @wearetheused being back in the studio makes it more likely that we are looking at Autumn 2012 rather than February/spring for Vulnerable’s release.

# I Come Alive

I think I Come Alive was the best choice for The Used’s first single

Even if I haven’t heard any of the other songs. I Come Alive sounds like a direct product of Bert’s recent addiction to pain killers and how he got over it.

He said that once he was clean, the record really began to take shape and his passion and determination was renewed.

I see I Come Alive as insight to what happened to him and how the record became what it is, or will be in our case.

So in a way, it’s like the first chapter, or the introduction to Vulnerable.
