I had high hopes because they had said it’s gonna be more like the first record. It’s a bit heavier than expected. Lyric wise it’s nice but not their greatest so far.


If you listen to it closely, it does resemble their self-titled album a little, but as I stated earlier, they’ll never sound exactly like that again because they’ve grown, and Branden is gone. I’m also surprised by the heaviness, when they said it was positive, but still The Used, I thought it would resemble Lies for the Liars, which it sort of does. I like the heaviness though.

Just..I don’t really know how to explain it. Like, you know when an artist gets happy and then you listen to their lyrics and kinda raise an eyebrow and go “Are you serious? Did you really just say that?” and it’s great they’re better but still lol

After a couple of months, after I started to get better, I realized, “Holy shit, I haven’t done anything creative in months.” I got on this really positive inspirational kick. The record came out very positive, actually.

Maybe I was too gloomy about @wearetheused’s Vulnerable release date.  Nought point five of the band played a surprise set last night, Big Picture were there and reported that the new album was due out in March.

I guess @wearetheused being back in the studio makes it more likely that we are looking at Autumn 2012 rather than February/spring for Vulnerable’s release.

nooo, i dont think artwork was that raw really. more like their first album. :) but im glad that theyve developed and stuff, but still :)


Oh, okay. I think almost every The Used fan wishes that The Used would go back to how they used to sound, not like, full throttle, but just use some of those, I don’t know, elements? But in my opinion it can’t and won’t ever be like that again. One, because they are always pushing forward, making sure each album sounds different. Two, their old stuff was written with Branden, and he took a vital part of their old sound when he was fired.

I think I Come Alive was the best choice for The Used’s first single

Even if I haven’t heard any of the other songs. I Come Alive sounds like a direct product of Bert’s recent addiction to pain killers and how he got over it.

He said that once he was clean, the record really began to take shape and his passion and determination was renewed.

I see I Come Alive as insight to what happened to him and how the record became what it is, or will be in our case.

So in a way, it’s like the first chapter, or the introduction to Vulnerable.

I think its a bit light


I get that, but I think it needed to be. Especially after Artwork which was a horribly dark album. But it’s still dark in the sense of what Bert is (or at least what I think he is) singing about. But this is only one song on what I’m hoping to be a long track list, so we may still get that darkness.
